Hello just wondering if anyone had had the throttle lowered on their early (04/54) 111R to make heel & toeing easier, and if so, by how much? Is there any downside to having this done? I'm curious as to why Lotus sent out a car that is hard to heel & toe in when presumably all their test drivers are doing it scratchchin Does it make H&T much easier? Is it a complex job to lower it? Any advice appreciated bow

It has been done, it can be done but there are 3 different pedal boxes, which car do you have?

I didn't know that - it's an 04 111R, made April 2004 I think if that identifies it?

Yep, did mine in a 54 Exige and raised the brake at the same time. Do a search on my posts about 12-18 months ago and you'll find complete instructions. It does make a noticable difference.

Found some of those posts but the link about how to lower the accelerator doesn't seem to work anymore. I don't think I'd want to be doing it myself though, I'd prefer the garage to sort it out if they can. I just wanted to know if it was a complex job, if it was worth doing and if there were any down sides (and how much to lower it by but I think 25mm was mentioned somewhere)

Pretty sue all the info is on the sands museum site. Worth a quick search. If not let me know and I'll see if I have any info anywhere.

This was the main reason that I got my 111S! However, a combination of changing the throttle height and changing the brake pads should improve things. The H&T still isn't ideal even in a standard 111S, but a change of pads improved things massively in my car.

I already changed the pads which certainly improves the brakes, but the accelerator pedal stills sits quite a way above the brake pedal when depressed making it very difficult to blip with the right edge of your foot. The other H&T method of rotating the heel to the right seems impossible to me as you hit the underside of the steering column with your leg
