E39 M5 with a Stuck Bonnet Catch

Hi, i am currently unable to open the bonnet due to the little handle that pops out from the grill not releasing the bonnet. Is there anything i can do or is it a garage job ?

On a 3 series you can push through the left hand BMW kidney grill to give you access to the latch. Its only cliped on, just apply firm pressure to it and keep hold of the clips.
