Builders...Concrete raft/base cost

How much roughly for a raft/base for a Garage that would be 4m x 12m.

Hi Jenny, a better place to go would be "www.trustedtradesmen.com" and seek pricing on the forums there. A lot will depend on type of ground, services/pipework needing relocated etc.

Jesus that's big, sure you've got your measurements right? I thought our new block built shed was huuuuge!

we've just poured a concrete base of 18ft x 22ft for which the ready mix was £600. We dug the foundations, put hardcore in and shuttered ourselves. It was approx 6cubic metres of readymix.

I want it at least 12 feet wide and 33 feet long. I reckon it would about 7 cube and if I remember a bowser used to be about 6 6.5 cube so working it in to one bowser would make sense but I have no idea of overall cost without services

I've recently done my own garage base (13' x 24' x 6")

Approx costs:

Timber for shuttering £50
Steel mesh reinforcement £120
Type 1 £130
DPM £15
Readymix £590
Hire of pump (was a long run) £190
Hire of whacker £25

Before the pour makes sense to put in some services.
I ran hot and cold water feeds from the house in MDPE, armoured cable and put a 4" waste in so I can install a run of cheap kitchen units with a worktop and sink.
