I'm sure that if I installed CCTV in a girl's toilet I'd be in prison fairy quickly. Wonder what makes the Council immune?

Birmingham uni has has cameras in themens for years. For those who are currently students they are disguised as alarm boxes (you will notice 2 typrs of boxes on the wall). I always thought this was weird but it was legal for them to do. Note they did not have them in the girls bogs and they were pointed so that you couldn't see the urinals.

I think you can install cameras in your own toilet and anyone who uses the facilities has agreed to the terms with out knowing.

Oh, and i am not a toilet deviant. Honest.

Isn't that sexist? You have to treat both sexes equally, it says so in the law.

And anyway, if they fit CCTV in the male bogs and you wave your willy at it, do they fine you for indecent esposure, or do you sue them for invasion of privacy?

It's a mad world.

RIPA probably. The same Act that councils can use to spy on paperboys.

I have worked in nightclubs in this country where there is cctv in the ladies. Apparantly, its for drug prevention.....

Anyway, who would want to look at a bunch of stfaced munters, falling about on their heels, trying to re-apply the panstick, peeing on the floor and bhing about each other? If you bought them a Breezer, you'd get a gob job and full view of the cycle rack anyway!

AFAIK it is perfectly legal as long as there is signage noting that there is CCTV monitoring.

The bad thing is the special clearance is only an enhanced CRB, normal for any job where you are working with children or vulnerable adults (the mentally ill, old folks etc). I have an enhanced CRB from driving buses of old people for a charity, all it took was a form and not being a wrong un.

FFS! It will be a single camera looking at the wash hand basins - not individual waterproof cameras installed in each pan for perving at under age pasty. They will show nothing more offensive than girls washing their hands, applying make-up, smoking and writing 'Donna iz a sg' on the mirror.
