Holden based meets during 2009
Discussion
Hello all, was wondering if there were any other Holden based events organised during 2009? Missed the Ace event through work commitments. Probably gonna do some of the Goodwood events this year and maybe go to the Pod as I've not been for 2-3 years now.
I live just outside Bristol. Bought one of Wortec's 2 VXR8 Carbon Edition development cars back in November (from Picador, Southampton), so I believe a few extra BHP over the standard Carbons. Had to sell my 08 ZX-10R mind but GD07 puts a nice smile on the face every day
My 3 kids are itching to add to the Youtube videos of it...
To keep up with my litre bike mates, currently pondering on whether I can afford to take the next step up in the BHP ladder but would have to be a worthy jump to bother, so have been interested in some of the current upgrade postings. Recently started very early discussions with Roger of Monkfish so we'll see how it pans out!
Anyway, any comments on local meets or general events around the country, based around Holdens would be appreciated.
cheers

Just Holden meets. I mean your is Badged as a Vauxhall. can these meats include Holden/Vauxhall Monaros CV8s and HSV Monaro VXRs. What about Holden Maloos and HSV Maloos. When we have a meet there tends to be a whole variety of these cars there. If you do mean just Holdens then i have no idea.
Hello. Ok thanks for info, will wait and see what meets come up!
Just to clarify for Holden I did of course mean it to reference any V8 preferably aussie originated car! Doesnt really matter whether it's Holden or Ford etc, whether Sedan, Ute or Coupe styling or HSV (Monaro, Maloo, GTS or R8) or FPV (GT, Pursuit or F6) performance derivative!! though I dont want to start a Holden / Ford holy war here! Thats definitely down to personal preference

Welcome to the forum mate. As you understand, we are generally HSV /Holden/ VX /GM-LSX based here, although we have the odd pagan on here that does utter the word "Fraud" and some even, still burn rice, apparently. Although that's not my cup of tea, each to his own, I suppose.
If you want to put your car through it's paces we are having a mini meet at Shakespeare County Raceway on 16th/17th May. Idea is to meet up and have our competition on the Saturday and for those who want to, to have a meal together in Stratford on Avon in the evening and then more of the same on Sunday or some are going up to Donington for the BTCC on the Sunday. That's the plan anyway, and you're welcome, you just need to let us know and pick a race number.:

Oh, and I'd say that Shakey's is easier to get to, from Bristol, than the Pod.

Hi Gaz, I will be trying to do a couple of trackdays at Goodwood again this year, we ought to try and meet up there, I always feel a bit left out trying to put the normal gagle of Westfields, Beemers and the like in their place,(normally very unsucessfully!). I wont be doing Brands again.........boring all bl++dy corners!, plus Goodwood is quite local to me......Chris.
Shakespeare County sounds like it should be fun, so barring problems, I'll look to be there! No. 42 unless someone else has it already, thanks.
Are kids ok to come up or best not too? will help decide on how I plan the arrangements! Might well do the BTCC Sunday too.
Pics, um whats the easiest way to embed them if they're on my laptops hard drive or do they have to be on a website somewhere?
I should have the dyno map from Wortec for the Carbon Edition, with dotted line showing variation for mine.

This sounds like an interesting test! I have a PDF file from Wortec on the Carbon with dotted line referencing mine, but cant get it into a decent JPG to post so this will have to do;RWHP (dotted line) - HUB

RWTQ (dotted line) - HUB

Reckon the Surrey Rolling Road will be interesting either way and to see what some of the other cars on the forum are doing, must be some big RWHP figures floating around seeing some of the other work Roger is doing!!
