Is it possible to extract over 500 bhp from a Mk1 XKR with the 4.2 engine and if so what is involved and what is it likely to cost?

All the best.

Martin.

Hunt back through NormanD's postings here.
But the short answer to your question is yes.

You could start with

I think Norman is still using a 4.0 and presumably the MB 5speed box which is as tough as old boots, it's the one they use in the SLR and the V8 diesels (generally it's torque not power that breaks gearboxes).

I have just put the 4.2Lt engine in but kept the MB 5 speed G/box
As you say it seems to be like old boots.

A "Twin Screw supercharger" I believe is the short answer to your question mate.
