My 05 CV8 has SC, uprated brakes and exhaust - insured with A-Plan, no probs, mods included.

I found Greenlight to be excellent. They were far cheaper than A-Plan for my modified CV8 and the operation felt a lot slicker generally (quick quotes, SMS updates, people being able to make decisions without asking their bosses all the time etc). Maybe I got unlucky with the people I spoke to at A-Plan, but it's a big turnoff for me a broker tells me that they "don't do email".

This probably says more about me than the insurer though. Ultimately they're both worth a try.

I've not tried A-Plan, but to my shock, my current insurer Direct Line were actually cheapest for me, ~£600 isnt cheap for fully comp (my Sagaris was ~£400), but not bad for ~45% power hike from SC + all the other Carbon bits and some £300 cheaper than the next best.

I was insured with Direct Line for the first year but soon changed it when they kept calling it a Monaro even on the cert, vxr8 did not exist!! then after nine months they sent me a letter stating i was not insured for theft because I had not proved there was a tracker device fitted, the fact they had sent me a letter at the begining saying the proof I had provided was OK......what the.........well insured with A Plan now, sorted, and cheaper, euro cover etc included not extra....rant over, sorry.

Lol, they now seem to understand the terms VXR8 and supercharger at least, if little else! All the underwriters really wanted to know was % power increase, cost of all the bits and whether the disks would stop the car confused! Based on your experience, reckon I will give A-Plan a go next time though for sure!! smile

Another vote for A Plan here - I've used them for years with imports and other interesting stuff and found the staff to always be good.
