I have a problem with my number plate light. The bulb holder has broken and consequently it now doesn't work. Has anyone replaced this part if so what did you use ? Any help on this is appreciated as I have to fix it before next Friday. I've just checked the MOT website and it says that this light if fitted by the manufacturer must be in working order otherwise it's a failure.

I think this may be off an escort or fiesta - it is of similar shape IIRC. I'd take the old one out and take a trip to the local scrap yard where you should be able to get a replacement that will fit for peanuts. As long as the replacement fits the hole it should be ok
