New key for Passat

I've broken the bit on the top of the key that lets you keep it on a set of keys, for my 2003 Passat.

Can I buy one of those keys that people sell on ebay and swap the guts over?

yes you can, but you have to transfer the PCB which is mounted on plastic pins with the tops melted (if you know what i mean)

I just got a good helping og epoxy resin on mine, works well
