SL W 129 500roof

The Roof on my pals SL 500 1995 wont go down, the roll bar wont go down and the roof switch is flashing, someone said it sounds like the roof ECU , if this sounds right, were is it, how much are they, and is there anyone that repairs them, or any other ideas. Keith

could be the roof ecu, then again could just require a manual reset if its been left for a long time. esp if battery has gone flat

How do you carry out the manual re-set yourself as I have a 'similar' problem with my SL.

its in the handbook, its not a quick job by the look of it. Keith

I've had a search thro the owners manual but don't seem to be able to find anything that relates to my problem with the hard top on and both lights lit up.
Did you mean I should go to Mr.Haynes via his manual?

Try resetting the windows and roll bar as per the manual. The roof needs to know their positions before it will operate. You may need to clear a persistant fault code.
