with petrol prices as they are i can fill up for about £50 or less.

this gets me maybe 300 miles

Thats true but its not goin to be at that price for ever.

Ethanol is crap, you need like 9.8:1 AFR with it so you eat fuel at a much higher rate,(ie) 50% so factor that in.
Also energy content is way less.
