power steering noise

i have just bought an 02 plate cooper and the power steering is noisy when turning the wheel. its like a little buzzing noise. but also today whilst out on various shopping car parks i noticed a few minis and everyone did the same noise so my question is .. is this normal??
i know its the pump but is there a cure or is it fit a new pump and i have checked and there is no leaks.

I myself have just bought an 02 Cooper S and find the power steering noisy, it makes a noticeable whine even with very small steering wheel movements, reading other posts from other forums i believe it is a case of TADTS, in fact you should be more concerned if it didn't make a noise, can someone confirm this?

Correct the whining noise from it is normal, and nothing to worry about. However if there is a knocking or clicking noise then this is an issue that has appeared a few times
