Yup, so far I have the makings of a day off.

None of our staff can get to work, I could probably get there but I don't have keys wink

Had to. Turned up on time at my Bosses (mates) house - He lives out in the sticks. He was shocked that I bothered and sent me home! We are currently doing the stonework on a house (again out in the country) and he thought the transit wouldn't get us there in one piece.

I am here, have been since 7am, there were not many cars on the road this morning.
I am going to try and escape early to go build a snowman with my little lad this afternoon.

half the slackers haven't turned up here, and the ones that did are already whinging that they should be let home early..

every other country in the world must be pointing their fingers and laughing at us.. not like the snow wasn't forecast for the last week.

Damn technology - no such thing as a day off anymore, now that I can log in from home. frown Just a question of whether I'm working from home or at my desk. Today I'm working from home, although I've already had e-mails from people claiming they can't dial in to conference calls because they're stuck at home! confused

I have been given the day off! Job's not office based so constant travelling has been avoided.

Curse if you need a plumber though.

Crazy isnt it? I plodded into work, which was erm "fun" in my MR2. Most of the office hasnt turned up, including one middle aged woman who drives a Mitsubishi Pajero because she claims it makes her feel "safe". Not safe enough to drive the most snow capable vehicle out of everyone in the office 5 miles though, eh?

Started to get to customer site, but customer called me to they wouldn't be in. Their remote access works fine so I can continue working anyway.

Out of 14 people here only 2 of us made it on time.

Snow is no excuse to be late, everyone in London saw it snowing, people should take the initiative and leave earlier or plan their route.

Any excuse these days...'ahh boss, sorry but it's too sunny to go outside, I might burn on the underground'
