Cibie Dipping Oscar Headlights
Discussion
Hi All
I've just bought a pair of replacement lens/reflector units for the Cibie Dipping Oscar headlights (with sidelights) on my 1700 5 speed and they've arrived in Valeo boxes with a part number of 460118. I would have thought that quoting that number at Cafco, Partco or suchlike might produce a result.
Cheers

So having decided to fit the reflectors I found that the mountings under the front wing had rusted solid. I was able to swivel the lamps so that they pointed vertically upwards which exposed the fixing screw on the rim. Because the lamps are not mounted upright, the drain hole in the rim is not at the bottom !!! This probably accounts for the corrosion on the reflector. Rather than compromise the plating by drilling new drain holes, I just cleaned the rims up as much as possible and left a healthy smear of grease in there before re-assembly. I guess that the water will still collect in there so new drain holes are the better idea. I was able to separate the corroded reflector from its lens glass very easily so at least I now have a spare one of those.
