3.2 Shogun alarm problem

Got a problem with the shogun, parked in a carpark yesterday came back 4 hours later and pressed the remote button, nothing happened tried loads of times. opened the car using the key but the alarm went off, it still let me drive but ended up driving with the alarm and the hazards going after about 10 mins it the alarm stopped and got home ok. It still wont respond to the remote button so everytime i get in it the alarm goes off. i don't think the battery in the remote is dead as I can see a red light flicker when i press the remote button, anybody out there got any idea's.
