I have a GTO3 that is using water! and quite coincidently I am getting water in the passenger footwell. Again coincidently, this is worse when I turn on the heating. So, I could just not use the heating or find the leak. The second option is proving quite difficult. None of the pipes in the footwell appear wet and no obvious water marks, so has anyone else experienced a similar leak? Could it be coming from the matrix its self? It must be on the matrix side of the valve, so if the worst is confirmed, how do I get to the matrix to exchange it?

What else can I check before radical removal takes place?
Cheers

If the matrix itself had sprung a leak, I think you would find that the car steams up the moment you turn the blower on. If you're losing water from the header tank and there are no other obvious sources (turbo hoses are common culprits as is the little blue connector block close to the header tank) check hoses going into the matrix. If these are all dry then it is possible (happened to me) that a hose going through the central tunnel has sprung a leak. In my case this was due to the gear linkage mechanism sitting on the hose (from manufacture)and slowly wearing a hole in it. Naturally it waited till I was on some back road in Germany, raining and night fall approaching before deciding to let go.
