Hi DragHeads !

I would like to read your opinion & experiences about balancing
tires, tyres, slicks, Front runners......anything that rolls on the quartermile,
except wheelie bar casters...........biggrin
Some do and tell about great differences/betterments,
some don´t, as "one manly burnout" and one shaky run
would de-balance everything anyway.
Regards,
Benni

I haven't noticed a difference in a doorslammer (or maybe I just haven't driven one with sufficiently unbalanced wheels), but certainly in a dragster, it can make a huge difference. With unbalanced wheels, I was hitting major shake at half track. Balancing the wheels didn't 100% cure the shake, but it made the car driveable.

...Balance everything, its common sense, invariably your balancing the tyre not so much the wheel.Vibration due to wheel imbalance occurs at 30 ish,70ish,120 ish,and so on .Im not a driver but i would of thought trying to contend with wheel balance problems on top of everything else is not very nice for the driver,on big altereds we run a motorbike steering damper on the steering as well to help with any vibes that may well get through. At the backs its worth balancing youll be suprised how far they are out,as an experiment after a meet rebalance and see how much weight you need,if you need50 grams before your first meet, and 30 grams after the meet then then it was worth doing, all this comes under driver comfort,,,,,,,,,,,,bill

Bill, funny this should come up, how would you go about balancing a 15 x 15 rim with 33in tall slick ?. I've heard it can be done with a bubble balancer ?. Do you have one ? I'm lookin to get mine done.
