Hello everyone, i'm new to PistonHeads and looking for some advice.

I'm currently looking for a freelander. Does anyone know anything about imports and whether they should be avoided or not?

There is no mark 3 freelander there is a freelander 2 or a Disco III.

Which ever one you want the cheapest UK ones I know of are http://www.drivethedeal.com/buy-a-new-car/land+rov...

I would have thought that the desperation for sales at dealers currently, combined with the £-Euro parity, would make importing no longer worth the hassle.

Why import? - or buy new at all for that matter?

There's some cracking deals on nearly new at the moment. My father has just landed an 8 month old demo HSE auto for £22k with 6k miles - with a very good p/x deal on his facelift Freelander 2. Dealer said they hadn't been busy on newish secondhand for ages - at prices like that you can see why. Only trouble is that you have to move very quickly if you find the right car. A super car at a good price - take a bow Matford Exeter!

Similarly, my father just picked up a 10 month old ex-demo, for £16,850. This was an XS with £2k worth of options on top (full winter pack and 19" wheels) and had just been serviced. Great deal!

Just bought an SE with leather, just over a year old with 7k miles for 18k. HSEs are going for around £22k. HTH.

A mate has just ordered a new Freelander HSE Auto for late March delivery.5k discount incentive from Landrover plus a further 10.5% discount from the Dealer. The dealer also reduced the LR finance APR rate.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Unfortunately didn't have the cash for a new motor but just picked up a lovely 04 SE, 5 door Manual diesel with only 30k on the clock.

The dog will love it smile
