Tamora known to anyone?

Does anyone know the history of a Red Tamora Y833 REC?

Its up for sale and looks a good deal.

Needs a front end respray and 40k miles with no engine rebuild?

The seller has no evidence of selling TVRs, and publicing that "This is the cheapest TVR in the UK...Taken in Part Exchange....All our cars are THE CHEAPEST in the UK guaranteed" doesn't fill me with confidence.

I love the line "described as the best driving Tamora the dealer had seen and driven" - yer right!

Personally, I wouldn't touch with a barge-pole. I must stress I have not seen this car in the flesh and it might be amazing, but I'd very much doubt it.

If your after a Tamora, buy a well known car from somewhere or someone who knows their TVRs - not a back street trader.

had my fingers crossed it was someone on here that had done a genuine trade-in.

Its a 2001 car so I would hope it has had some sort of engine rebuild by now?

Not trying to put any dampers on the purchase possibilty, but a 2001 Tamora, 39k miles, with no rebuild = possibility of an extra £4k on a top end rebuild.

My 2002 Tamora had done 21k miles before I decided to get a rebuild done, and feedback on the sp6 before the rebuild was that the cam followers were very worn. This is a problem with early sp6's, so proceed with caution is my advice.

If that Tam is the car I think it is (I'll be buggered if I an find the thread where I discussed it!), then it's the original yellow press car TVR.



The press car started life in that red colour, then was sprayed yellow for press duties, then sometime in the past 2/3 years it was sprayed back to red. At one point recently it briefly appeared in the classifieds here.

Until I find that thread, I can't be 100% certain it's the same car, but I seem to recall the first picture in the eBay ad' being the one used in the classifieds here.

Sorry to sound like a sad bd but ...REC relates to a London Registration I think. So, unlikely to be TVR factory.

Ebay ad now mentions its a 2005 engine, from TVR Engineering, actually so does James Aggers details, so its could be a good deal...
