I've just been on the Transport for London web site and done a check on my 1993 Defender 200TDi Hardtop and to my horror found that in October 2010 I will be eligible for a 100 a day charge for the pleasure of driving within the M25 yikes As I live just within the M25 this will make the continued ownership of my prized Landy impossible.

Am I way behind the times here ( in which case I apologise)or are there other Defender owners living in London that are also blissfully unaware of this.

Im sure there are plenty of them who dont realise this. We have a perfectly good low mileage transit that we use at work that we have just replaced because of this. mad

Seems crazey that Discoveries with identical engines are exempt just because they have windows in the back.... whats all that about..... thought it was suposed to be an emission charge!

Great news... well for me and anyone else who would have been affected by this.I received a reply from my local MP who I wrote to yesterday saying that good old Boris announced yesterday that he intends to suspend the 3rd phase of this policy. This is in order not to disadvantage small businesses. Yaa Hoo biggrin
