I love the look of these watches and I understand they can be snapped up for under £1000 ?

Then can indeed!

Check out the Chronomaster site!

I think they are around £800 with the rubber as pictured, or about £1k with the bracelet!

Had mine for around a couple of months & it's superb.

I got it on the rubber strap, which is very nice, but decided to get the bracelet a week or so later & have kept it on that ever since.

and today

Epic watch. I love the hands.

Definitely one that's on my list.

I have one of the very limited production of 77 Caterham 7 watches commissioned by the Nearns just before they sold Caterham and retired from the business...

It's an interesting watch, the rubber band gets on my pip when it's very hot in Oz, but it's a fabulous looking watch to match my dashboard.....

Wasn't there a recent thread where the owner had scratched the glass within in a week and it was gaining a fair bit each day.

He seemed happy with it but it sounded a bit of let down to me.

I wonder why they haven't made a U1-S like most other U series watches.

You can get a U1 with black bezel

or a U2-S but to me it's a bit busy looking.

I'd like to see an all black U1.

....no, not a let down, I am just giving it some time to settle down before assessing it's accuracy. It's a heavy beast on the wrist, compared to my Oyster which is in for a service. The scratch came about whilst diving, so it has had a heavier than normal usage. Mine is the S DR version, with rubber strap, which looks good on the wrist but is too big to fit under cuff-links ( if you're that way inclined!). If you do buy the rubber strap version be warned, do not be too vigorous cutting the strap to length as there is no going back!
In all, I am very positive about the watch and glad I bought it.

I've got a U1 on rubber and absolutely love it. I always intended getting the metal bracelet but in the flesh I think the rubber balances out the matt finish of the case very nicely. It's a surprising comfortable watch given it's size and weight, and it definitely wears much smaller than it looks.

Overall it feels like a very high quality product, and the styling is very distinctive - you're not going to mistake it for anything else. Some people hate the Lego hands but for me it's one of the best features of the watch.

I can thoroughly recommend Neil at Chronomaster too. A pleasure to do business with smile

I've had mine for almost a year and it's fantastic. I've never worn it on the rubber (I'm not a fan of the feeling on my wrist), I wore it on the bracelet and several different leather straps for a long time until I tried it on a NATO. The bracelet is very comfortable but I perfer the NATO as I just don't feel it's there.
My Seadweller rarely gets a look it with the U1 around it's that good in my opinion.

Nice watch, and at a reasonable affordable price I think.

Prefer it on the rubber strap and would look fantastic on a NATO I reckon!
