Fuel Protests are Back

Memories of the country grinding to a halt...

Last weekend over sixty lorries descended on Cardiff in a fuel protest reminiscent of the demonstrations that almost brought the UK to a state of emergency a couple of years back.

The Welsh Road Haulage Association was one of the organisations that was involved in the protest which headed along the M4 before turning into Cardiff. A spokesman for the Association said "We are not very happy with the tax imposed on fuel. Around 74p in every pound goes to the Government. Nowhere else in Europe compares. "

The protesters didn't intend to blockade the roads, but wanted to remind people of just how severe the tax on fuel is in the UK and the consequences for business and in turn for consumers.

These need more coverage. I had no idea they were going on.

If there are any fuel protests like the scale of last time, I'd be there. The government are taking the with these taxes.

Enough is enough.

Vie la revelotion (pardon my spelling).
