London's Public Transport

So I got up extra early to check the TFLs website and it said that all tube lines were normal service. Didn't go back to bed so I had some brekky and enjoyed the silence in the house (family of 5).
I have just logged on again and the part suspended and suspended notices are popping up left right and centre. Seems the status does not get updated until someone wakes up.
I hope the the CC is suspended as I am going to have to drive in.

CC?
The train company in our area set out the emergency timetable for today on their website late last night, so we went to bed knowing what to expect.
What we forgot was the Network Rail factor; so this morning the emergency timetable is thrown into disarray as the infrastructure isn't up to delivering anything.
Oh well. Dropped OH at station and then came home for some brekkie and PH

Similar story with SouthEastern. Last night they said they'd implement a reduced service then proceeded to list half hourly trains on nearly all routes - ie. about 90% of their normal service. Unsurprisingly when I did manage to log onto National Rail this morning, the trains were woe-fully late and random. Not sure whether to try it or not as I don't want to be stranded in London tonight. The train company in our area set out the emergency timetable for today on their website late last night, so we went to bed knowing what to expect.

That's normal. We often have a "good service" just without any trains.
Apparently a "good services" doesn't mean all parts of the line are running
Also, apparently, they cannot announce the lack of trains because "they'd have to keep announcing it for new people arriving on the platform". Bear in mind we have no electronic boardings at our station.

I didn't think they were allowed to say 'good service' any more, only 'normal service' which is normally anything but good...Apparently a "good services" doesn't mean all parts of the line are running

RE: Congestion Charge
At least they were clever enough to realise people may have been stuck in roads on sunday night / monday morning due to the snow and it would have been bloody unfair to charge someone a congestion charge if their car wqas stuck in a snow filled road.
Not at all - that would have been booty time.At least they were clever enough to realise people may have been stuck in roads on sunday night / monday morning due to the snow and it would have been bloody unfair to charge someone a congestion charge if their car wqas stuck in a snow filled road.
The cancelled the CC because they were unable to provide bus drivers who wanted to work or a rail system up to the job.
Seems that i made the right choice not go in .. yet again 'Full Service' doesn't actually mean what it says .. just worked out it will take me 2.5 hours to get in via Bus and Tube (assuming they aren't crammed with commuters which is always the issue in these circumstances). Might as well work remotely.

Its just taken me 3 1/2 hours to do Reading to Barking on the trains. Its all a bit iffy again but I can't really see why. I ended up getting a train the Charing Cross, walking to Tower Hill and then a train out of Fenchurch St...
I can't really see why its such a mess today, I can understand how the tube lines that run outside may be effected but the circle line is down completely and that is pretty much underground the whole way... Still at least London is empty!!!
