Over the last few weeks I have been getting pains in my lower limbs, specifically arms but legs to a lesser degree.
Its worst during the night, bad enough to stop me sleeping until I take a pain killer.
I have made a doctors appointment for tomorrow am.
Has anyone else had this problem.
Left side is worse than the right.
I made the mistake by searching for the syptoms on t'web and it came up with all types of things and included high cholestrel which both my parents have got (I had a test 5 years ago and it was 5.6 but never went back for a follow up).
I got really worried when possible amputation was mentioned. Just shows a limited amount of knowledge is a bad thing.

It sounds serious, very serious. Best not to see your doctor because if he confirms my diagnosis that is going to make you feel even worse.

It was just a reverse psychology thing, of course you should go to the doctor!

Don't want to depress the OP any further but our mate played on his Wii all one weekend last year then suffered severe pain in the wrist of his left arm (Hmm... similarities?). After a couple of days of putting up with the pain, he decided he must have damaged something and took himself to the doctor. It turned out he was having a heart attack. He was taken straight to our local hospital, then transferred to Oxford and had heart surgery within 24 hours.
He is fine now (about 8 months later) but it was a big scare for himself, his wife, his children and all his friends. A couple of things I picked up from his experience:
Heart attacks are not necessarily sudden events as portrayed in films or on TV.
The pain from a heart attack is not neccessarily felt in the chest or shoulder. It can be felt in the limbs (e.g. like him, in the left wrist). It is usually felt on the left side, but not always.
Being fit (regular gym visitor) will not always protect you from an inherited condition.
Heart attacks (even quite serious ones) are survivable.
The diet they put you on afterwards (which you are naturally going to take very seriously...) is good for weight loss but will take lots of things away from you (fried breakfast...) that you used to like very much.

Oh thanks a bunch!

The pain is in both arms and legs but worse left arm, then left leg, right arm, right leg (Hardly noticeable).

Maybe its got something to do with circulation, will update tomorrow when return from doctors.

Seriously, go to the doctor now. Mate of mine had bad pains in his right arm in the run up to Christmas. Didn't go to the doctor. 3rd Jan had a heart attack. Made it to hospital, was a blood clot. Had an operation to put a stent in, was released. 10 days later had a 2nd heart attack and this time unfortunately he didn't make it...

32 years old, slim, physically fit played a lot of sport etc.

You just don't know, not worth taking the risk
