Basically the Union Jack was flown upside down at the ceremony. Cue BBC uproar at this "Upside-Down Flag Event Situation Crunch".

Its ironic that flying the Union flag upsode down used to be a signal that the flag-flyer was in distress. Maybe Brown and Mandelson are trying to tell us something?

I'm sorry I keep looking at the pictures but I can't se the difference. Perhaps we should just make the flag doubly symmetric to avoid any such issues in the future.

Regrettably nobody knows or cares anymore. Were we one of those 'less tolerant' societies we'd doubtless be out in the streets firing AK47s and burning things by now.

Top-left quadrent of the flag, the thicker white bit should be at the top of the red bit!

I assumed this would be a mistake by the Chinese.

It was at Downing Street.
That's a little worrying, what calibre of people do we have there.
Answers on a postcard no later than Thursday.

Apparently, nor do we. Which is worrying really.

Think about it, your job is to put the flag up on 10 Downing Street, and you get it wrong. I mean, how clueless do you have to be?

However, I'm assuming it was done in a hurry and they didn't double check rather than piss poor educational standards that we are alluding to.

Too busy making extra sure the Chinese flag was the right way up probably.
That and kissing Mandelson's arse.

Hasn't the flag been manufactured incorrectly? (Probably in China, ironically) Though obviously someone at No 10 should've checked it in advance and done a quick bit of DIY to correct it.

Perhaps you should take pride in the country you live in enough to know a little bit more about the flag and the history of these Isles.

Just a thought.
