Childrens Toys. Fads, and am I getting really old????

I can remember when the whole Scooter thing started a few years ago, and could sort of see the attraction.

Pokemon. Not a clue.

Heelies? Should be called death wheels.

My little lad (3 last week) has a morbid fascination/obsession with things called go-go's.

These are (to 34 year old eyes) random lumps of plastic, with faces painted on them, sold in packs of 3 with a sticker of each in.

They are only cheap (thankfully) but when i went to get some for him the other day, i was asked if i want series 1 or series 2. What the fk?????????????
Can anyone explain????????????

Or tell me what else have i missed/got to look forward to as he gets older???????????????????????/

series 2 - yellow packs

you can series 1 and series 2 sticker books :;

most of the kids seem to be collecting series 2

go-gos are an evolved form of crazy bones lol. i would just go for series 2 if i was you more modern lol. just think of it like this.

Erm, no. I am hoping to persevere with the enormous collecion of disney pixar Cars he had on the 22nd-then his favourite thing ever......now regarded in a similar way as st on your shoe.

Thing is, i can understand Thomas the tank engine/roary the racing car/cars.

A model of something with a track/mat etc etc that you can actually play with.

These look (to my heavily untrained eye) like melted toffees (or toffo's to be at least semi precise) and as such, i cannot grasp the attraction.

each player starts with 7 GoGo's lined up a takes it in turn to flick one at the opponents line up - any you knock over go into your team

I can remember a thing called Zoids when i was a nipper- battery or wind up mechanized dinosaurs.

A great thing for a child.

Then, that terribel day when some little fker at school turned up with a Transformer.

We all felt a bit yesterday, and hassled the folks half to death.

But again, at least you could play with the things.

A malformed plastic toffee??? Come on kids, they wouldnt even go through a catapault properly.

Those Disney Pixar Cars are great! We've got loads of them and we've had hours of fun with them.

Current favourites are NASCAR models, available on eBay for not much money. And the Pixar Cars, of course. We have some serious races going on here. But fortunately no requests for a pony yet - although the other day, we did have "Mum, when you buy a Ferrari, can it belong to both of us?".

I have a little figure 8 track for them!

Anything to do with Star Wars is sacrosanct for my 4 year old. However, try explaining how Anakin Skywalker is Luke Skywalker's dad but then becomes Darth Vader who tries to kill Luke before being reconciled and Princess Leia is really Luke's sister and see how far you get.
