Dads, how often do you get out for a beer?
Discussion
Ok ,i know times are hard, just wondered how often you dads got out for a beer and how much money you set aside each month for going out etc.
As things stand i tend to get out at least twice a week ,our local social club is normally about £1.80 a pint so missus is quite lenient as long as she gets the odd beer night and a meal out etc.
I tend to budget about £100 a week after mortgage, council tax, saving and all d/d 's sorted, what sort of budget do you fellas allow yourselves for your socialising.

50 pints a week!?
I manage maybe a couple of pints in a month tops, not a big drinker.
no dont drink 50 pints a week, normally about 12 or so,if missus wants a meal out is when money goesI manage maybe a couple of pints in a month tops, not a big drinker.
Back to the original topic!
Although I'm not a dad (that I know of) my old man always used to stop in for a couple of pints on the way in from work, I guess as a bit of "me" time to seperate the work time from the home time have a chat with a few mates before he returned to the chaos of the home.. Its something that I enjoy too, don't tend to go out for all nighters but like a couple of pints "early doors" to seperate the work from the home thing.
Erm so in answer to the question most days but not for long... and always always home to have tea/ supper/ dinner or whatever is the correct terminology (so as not to piss the misses off too much) As for when she goes out... whenever she wants.. at least I get to watch the decent TV then

Before I got married (9 yrs ago) and became a Dad (almost 5 yrs ago), I was in the pub 5/6 days a week for years, seems like I was always drunk or hung over!
These days, I will probably go out with the lads 2/3 times a month, tend to take 50/60 quid with me each time.
Stopped smoking a while back, and that makes one hell of a difference to the spend, am sure the smokers out there will agree that you tend to smoke like a chimny when you are on the beer!
I find nowadays, that the hangover seems to last for ages (38yrs old)! not sure if this is due to age, or out of practice!

What is this out for a beer of which you speak?
Indeed, I have a vague recollection of something called a pub. Great places full of smoke and free of teenage numptys. Jr Saltstein resulted in all pub passes cancelled for the foreseeable future and replaced with furtive visits to a virtual boozer, the P&P. Rarely - baby gti at 14 months, mrs gti working part time and me on rolling shifts mean we are either too tired or cant get a sitter. Not fair for me to go out and leave her at home each night, I am not home often enough with work.
I tend to pick my days when baby gti is in nursery and mrs gti is working, then have the day and evening to do what i want (unless she's got stuff for me to do)
