Irritating ******* down the pub
Discussion
Do pubs just attract morons?
This evenings halfwit was some prat who was struggling to handle half a pint and then proceeded to sing Merry Christmas by Slade, repeatedly, but he only knew one f
king verse! He then grabs a friend, and they sing it together. Unfortunately he also only knows the first verse.
A drinker near him was some retired chap who did look like Nobby Holder. Good god you couldn't make this s
t up. The faux Nobby was also a singer, and then the drunk starts offering him a music deal "I'll introduce you to Simon Cowell". It was embarrassing.
And then he starts on us! Trying to f
king start something by whispering "that tramp, looks like a tramp, yeah he's looking at me." Admittedly my friend could do with washing his jacket this decade, but this went on and on. Even his friends were trying to quieten him down.
Eventually we went to the bar. Only for this prick to follow us and start annoying a few more punters. Christ, would he just f
k the hell off.
The telling thing was when he said to his mate who was trying to leave "I don't come out often, I want another pint". Yeah, wonder why you f
king moron.
And then we get the smokers. Standing outside and keeping the door open. Freezing the rest of the pub to death. Not like we're having a cold snap or anything. Had the same thing last week, a bunch of smokers holding the door open whilst they stood outside. f
k everyone else, f
k the fact its freezing (0 degrees outside), hell, we don't have to suffer the cigarettes, but they'll freeze everyone else. And when we did ask them to close the door we got a mouthful. They were even freezing their non smoking friends to death. w
kers.

Name and shame here and then use it to find a better watering hole.
wouldn't bloody mind but we don't go there much now. we keep trying the place to see if it gets better as it used to be our local and is closer but it hasn't got any better. that'll teach us.tinman0 said:

1st part you're 100% right. I had a bloke work for me who acted like that when we went to the pub. Suffice to say, he is no longer employed here. This evenings halfwit was some prat who was struggling to handle half a pint and then proceeded to sing Merry Christmas by Slade, repeatedly, but he only knew one f

s.As for the smokers, I'd take a guess you took your frustration from the first muppet out on them, hence the reply you got.

Next time be a man, either kick the s
t out of said t
t, or rise above and ignore. b
hing here isn't really the way forward. Tales of mass brawls are welcome though.

What's this you say? Drunk people? Acting drunk? In a pub?
Drunks I can deal with and can be amusing. This guy was obnoxious. He the sort of **** that is looking for trouble and if he got a slap would claim that he was innocent in all this.Even his mates were trying to get him out as he was getting on their nerves.
Find a pub you can get to regularly, has a nice atmosphere, build up a rapport with the Landlord so that one the odd occasion someone is OTT a quiet word in the Landlord's ear and the trouble maker is asked to drink up and leave. The trouble is you are the same as the loud mouth gent...just another paying customer.
You also get the advantage of an easy tab if you happen to only go out with a fiver in your pocket, and invited to the New Year Eve lockin etc.

Shock horror, a drunk in a pub was being a knob and the smokers left the door open, jesus man you really do need to work on your levels of expectation, either that or build your own pub in the back garden, the scene you describe sounds like half the bloody pubs in the country, and the people who moan the loadest are the ones "that go there much"

Eh? Just because smokers are consigned outside doesn't mean they have to leave the doors open and let all the warm air out and freeze the rest of the pub to death. They don't do it in other pubs and bars - why do they do it in that particular pub. And as i said, i'm not against drunks, I just don't like drunks who are trying to start something. They have their own set of friends, why can't they keep to them? For what its worth I am a regular pub goer.
