My VXR8 needs new tyres. I have the 20" wheels and was wondering if anyone knows good tyres for the car. Good all round tyres which has strong side walls to cope with the power as I have wortec SC as well.
thanks.....
also, would like to replace badges from vauxhall to holden plus the vauxhall word on the boot and replace with holden. Anyone know where you get these from?

Depends what price range(per tyre) - Toyo proxes T1-R 285/30/20 (99) approx £250, Michelin Pilot Sport 285/30/20 (99) approx £316. Depending where you are in Hants I have a good friend in Portsmouth who can supply and fit and after coming up to the Ace has said he will do the best he can for forum members.

what's your budget roughly for two new rears? Do you want to stay at 275 wide or 285 which will fit fine? Then I can get him to search for the best deals on various brands.
Phil
If you are interested I asked at Christchurch tyres for some prices on your behalf. They always seem to be pretty competetive.
Michelin Michelin Pilot Sport 2 285/30/20 (99) = £290
Toyo not readily available
pirelli PZero 285/30/20 (99) = £247
pirelli pzero asymm 285/30/20 (99) now discontinued but still available = £235
This company are always worth a call.

I put the Michelin Sport 3's on and they're as good as the Bridgestones also only cost £608 for the 4, fitted and balanced etc. I was quoted around £800 for the full set of Bridgestones.
The garage is in South Wales so I don't know if that's too far?

Have you looked at TyreTraders.com www.tyretraders.com
Good prices on delivered and on fitted by your local fitter (they supply the tyres).
Have used them twice with no problems, for my Monaro, had a look at your size
Toyo Proxes were £217 delivered i think.

what size boot and bonnet HSV badges are required?. Best to have pins or adhesive ones?
Heres one for the boot, no pins required, just stick on. the VX ones come off easy enough, just warm up with a hair dryer..

Heres one for the bonnet, they ship to the Uk, got mine from them.

Walkinshaw do them as well but there's are see through if you know what I mean, I prefered the anthracite backing, trust this helps, if you want to see them in the flesh I'am only just up the road from you........Chris.

yep there nice, I have one of those on the rear sill mouldings each side...................
Just re the tyres, I've currently got Dunlop SP Sportmax 285/30/20s on my Carbon VXR8 that were already on there when I bought the car.
They seem a good tyre, grip pretty well and cheaper (~£160 per tyre) than goodyear or michelin. When they're worn I may go for Pilot Sport (I've used the Pilot Sport 2CT tyres on my bike and they were excellent). I used to use Eagle F1 all the time on cars for grip and look of the pattern but they've changed it so I'll either stick with Dunlop or move to Pilot Sport if the the money is spare and not being ploughed into the engine!
I've used all 3 of these tyres and there isnt a huge difference between them in terms of performance, but Dunlop is certainly cheaper.
