Guys,

Please dont slate me for this. I currently run a TVR T350c but fancy a change as the TVR doesnt get used at all and I think the lotus is more capable in all weather. I was weighing up more options between the exige s and the exige s with performance pack. Is the performance pack really worth it?

Look forward to your responses

I have a none performance pack car and drove the performance pack version, performance wise i dont think the 240 felt that much quicker, the biggest difference between the two cars are the brakes, the 240 car pulls up very quickly although most people seem to think the standard brakes are more than adequate.

I owned an Elise S2 for a while, bought a TVR Sagaris and owned that for about 2 years, I sold it and bought a new Exige S with the performance pack in September last year, I have fitted it with a K&N air induction kit, and a Larini F1 sports cat and exhaust.

Performance compared to the Tiv,..... The Tiv was very quick, however I would say that the Exige is equaliy as quick but handles 100 times better than the Tiv due to the adjustable traction control.

As a daily drive the Exige is a pain getting in and out of, however the build quality of the Exige is better and so as a daily drive wouldn't have the niggles as a Tiv.

I know I haven't really answered your question, however if you do opt for the Exige S with the performance pack the first thing you will do is compare it.

Have a run in the standard 220 its far from slow, up to a little over a ton theres not a great deal on the road will touch them then you have the awesome handling thrown in for good measure.

The performance pack is nice to have if you're doing trackdays - not because of the brakes (which I've been told get their holes full of brake dust and lose effectiveness... may be hearsay) but because of the seats and harnesses.

Performance wise, a standard S can have exactly a grand spent on new injectors and a Gotham tune to easily surpass the PP power figure, and smoother too. However as I've found out, retro-fitting seats with harness cutouts and a harness bar is multiple thousands.

If I wasn't so damn impulsive then I should have waited a bit longer for a yellow S with PP seats (err, like Toe's car smile ) and then changed the brakes anyway for ally bell groove-only discs with yellow EBC pads.

My cars got the super sport pack and touring so came with the seats and harness bar etc so all i had to do was buy the harnesses. They do make a hell of a difference when cornering hard as cyber says.
