Can anyone tell me what (if anything) is different about a non-M030 968 CS over a standard 968 apart from the stripping out of all the unnecessary interior items and equipment to save weight (oh and apart from the dodgy colour schemes )?

Were there any suspension, brake, engine or transmission mods or was it purely a weight saving exercise?

Edited to add: and what's the weight saving of a CS over standard?

Ah yes . I see SFV pretty much summed it up here:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=60232

So apart from the stripped out interior the only other mod is the 20 mm shorter springs F&R. Still be interested to know what the weight saving over standard is.

Not a lot.

90kgs sticks in my memory for some reason, but it may be less than that, say 60 or 70kgs.

CSs don't feel much quicker, but their handling is sublime. More than the sum of their parts, if you see what I mean.

I concluded on 50kgs. Top of my head it was 1380 kgs standard 968 v 1330 kgs Clubsport. Sometimes see the standard model listed as 1370kgs. Still pretty heavy unfortunately - just went for the easy weight savings such as removal of rear seats, loss of electric motors, rather than going into the detail of the 964RS like thinner glass, lighter wheels, etc.

to quote http://porsche968uk.co.uk/968-club-sport.htm

"The weight difference officially is 50kg, down from 1370kg to 1320kg, but sometimes is reported as much as 100kg. The discrepancy lies in where a coupe has full options like most UK models and can therefore be as much as a difference of 100kg, presumably then a fully specified coupe with all the options would be around 1420kg, the coupe Tiptronic is 1430kg so that particular comparison would bring a difference of 110kg."
