Grand designs - cove stripping product

Anyone remember what the name of the product that was used to strip off all the old layers fo paint to the coving on the episode of the refurbished house in London, the guy used it on the coving and Kevin even got his hands dirty and had a go attaking off the layers of paint.

The house was an old shop as well and he guy did nearly all the work themselves his wife was makeup artist or something? At the time they were living in a flat on a scrap metal yard?

Nitromors usually does the trick. Can't remember if that was it though...

Isn't it some sort of poltice ? You paint it on, let it dry and then peel it off ?

don't remember that one sorry. i take it you have particularly intricate coving?

b&q have a liquid sanding solution but i have not used it.

That stuff just chemically keys paintwork so you don't have to rub it down before repainting, doubt it'd be much use in this case

It was called a poultice. This is not a product as such but a way of applying a thick cream onto a surface. It usually has a plastic backing to prevent contact with whatever is next to the surface. It can be used in medicine to keep a cream or substance close to the skin.

You need a paint stripping poultice. Google for WWW.PEELAWAY.CO.UK or decorators poultice.

As above. We are using this at the moment and it brings up the Cornice like brand new. However it is to be applied by a professional and stripped by a similar standard worker as the skill is removing the paint and peal-away in one using timber picks and tools. Then the cornice is flooded with a neutraliser to stabilize the cornice ready for it t be coated preferably by spraying to get that even coverage.

you guys are the nuts, the 2 other products i found were cove kleen and peel strip but neither seemed to be the ones used in the programme. it;s for some listed coving in a building and remember seeing this and thinging that will do nicely.
