Where to Get a BarCode for your Publication

Guys Where is the best place to get a Barcode Printed if you have your EAN 13 Number / ISBN Number all ready?

What is the cost and can anyone on here do this ?

It's normally done by the book printer when they are finalising the repro using some barcode software. If you are designing your own cover just leave a white box for it.

I work for an hardware manufacturer so have to constantly produce new barcodes for our new SKUs.

We use a company www.axicon.com for producing barcodes.

Give them the EAN number, they will verify the number, and will produce a *.eps graphics file for you.

Cost is around £15 + VAT.

I remember using an organization called the Article Number Association for a bar code number when I was supplying consumer goods into multiple retailers. I don't know if they cover your area of concern, but are a good point of contact.

You don't need anything special to print barcodes!!!

You just need a font.

google 3of9 fonts.

Then print away.

Note: Might have to use an asterisk around the text in the barcode. Eg: for Hello you would need to type *Hello*.
