I likes what i likes, and couldn't help gawping at the black matt paint job on an SLR in the car park 4 weeks ago, and help, I can't get it out my head.

I've never personalised anything on any car, ever, I buy, I drive.

If one were to have one's 997 professionally resprayed in said finish, (blow the residual) how much do you think I'd be looking at please for the job?

Shold I stop day-dreaming?

You'll discover a lot of 'matt/sheen black' cars are vinyl wrapped rather than permanently sprayed.

Adrien on here had his done I think by Raccoon Wraps.

its only matt clearcoat so its about £30 for the matting agent for the clear. If the car is tidy e.g just chips and odd ding here and there your looking at 2k-3k for a decent job which I would assume you would like on such a quality vehicle. Just out of interest what colour is the car in question?

So... If your car was black already... This would be a fairly simple job? Spraying that is?

I have been watching the thread in the Ferrari section where the guy has had his 308 completely taken apart and resprayed and he reckoned on about £3,500 with the garage doing all the work, which seemed reasonable to me, when your car comes back as good as new.

I fnacy something slightly lighter than black and have seen a beautiful dark grey on an F599 that I rathered fancied... Not sure it is worth bothering with the colour change when I quite like the black as it is... I might just spend £1k getting it tidied up and professionally detailed.

As they said, Raccoon wraps. About 1200 notes for a full matt black wrap.

That's tidy. I wish I'd gone at least anthracite when I got my turbo-looks reconditioned (mine's Polar), but with a dark car, dark wheels are unarguably superb.

I am about to get my car wrapped by these guys and have organised several for clients.....they are incredible. Soovy.......in the picture above you ay the £200 wheel job......I take that is not a wrap by Racoon just painted??? I really want to get my wheels exactly the same colour as the wrap....i.e matt black.

No, wheels painted.

They will do matt black. Takes four hours.

By God that is a good looking car. Can't beat a 996. Look forward to seeing the wrapped version. Does your paintwork have to be immaculate?
