'98 XJ8 electric seat control; need help!
Discussion
Hello all, my electric seat controls have failed. The problem only affects the driver’s seat and all motors and functions including lumbar support (separate to the main control switch) work when I operate the seat memory switches on the door panel.
I’ve checked the fuses which seem ok and, despite the fact that the wiring under the seat looks like a telephone exchange, nothing is obviously out of place or fouling against anything as far as I can see.
I was wondering if there is a relay or control unit that might have failed?
What do you reckon; any easy fixes?
Cheers

If everyting works from the memory then it could be the swich pack on the seat that's failed.
You may be able - I know they are handed left and right but the wiring and sockets may be the same on both sides - to remove the pack from the passenger seat, plug it into the drivers seat and see if it works.
Just a caution though - it's easy to fry XJ electrics - if you're not sure what you're doing, or confident this is a really good idea then don't do it.
