As far as I know it's just like whisky is whisky but there are many different varieties.

Lager is just a different brewing method to beer.

The Oz and May thing has been quite useful

Beer covers a few sub categories. Ale. Lager. Stout. Bitter.

Cider isn't beer, cider has it's own subgroups based on the fruit used (pear, apple etc)

Stella, Heineken, Guiness, Flowers, Badger, Spitfire...they're all "beers", despite being different drinks.

I have no idea.

Some times a few pints will spin my head, other days I can drink all day.

[Bloke Points] I did equal the record at our sixth form bar at my school for 6 pints in one hour though (the bar was only open for an hour) - but that was 17 years ago. Oh, and it was Fosters [/Bloke Points]
