Just wondered if anybody had any experience, I realise they are not in the uber expensive range but the advert in this months Evo looks good.
Funnily enough I was admiring that ad too. No experience of Emas but from the pic the movement is a chinese Seagull ST 19. I have had a couple of watches with it in and its a good reliable movement, quite nicely finished. But I would say the price is at the top end for such a movement.Edited to fix smartphone predictive speeling ...

Very good selection fom here http://www.timepieces.co.uk/. I bought an orange diver which has been brilliant as a knockabout watch for everything from sailing to skiiing. The guy I spoke to stood out as being very friendly & helpful.
How weird..!?!
I was flicking through the Jura websote a couple of days ago (more torturing myself than actually actively looking for something) and in an almost hidden link to "Style Watches" I saw that they now have TW Steel, Welder, Wenger and these guys: EmaS.
I'd never heard of them but I started browsing and I thought they looked quite interesting. They are a bit Fortis/Oris like yet with quartz movements, a fraction of the price. I've been trying to find out a bit more about them and if anyone knows anything about them or has ever bought one, I'd love to hear the feedback.
For reference, here is the link http://www.jurawatches.com/watches-list.asp?type=3...

I'm not actually sure why I know this but....
I believe EmaS watches were conceived so that wealthy people staying on the French Riviera didn't have to risk damaging their Pateks etc. on the beach or in the sea. Instead they could purchase a cheapish EmaS, which still looked styish and vaguely reminiscent of pricier watches, are waterproof, and it's not the end of the world if you get sand in the bezel.
The one in Evo caught my eye too. Is it manual wind, I couldn't see a rotar (sp?) for the movement.

Yes, it is. In case it helps at all here's a pic of what I am 100% certain is the same movement (this one in my PRS-5):I believe EmaS watches were conceived so that wealthy people staying on the French Riviera didn't have to risk damaging their Pateks etc. on the beach or in the sea. and here in a Sea-Gull:

PS I fixed the spelling of "rotor"
I have one, if you're talking about the sub-alike? Black dial and black bezel. It's my beater watch, although I don't actually wear it that much for some reason. Nice thing, again on a black NATO.
Mine isn't manual though, and I didn't think that any of them were. Unless of course you're talking about a different watch.

Its not a sub-alike its a two register chrono - it bears a passing resemblance to a BP 50 Fathoms chrono. Except for only being 2-registers, and a tiny fraction of the price of course ...Mine isn't manual though, and I didn't think that any of them were. Edited to say I went to get my copy of Evo to find out its a Milano Paparazzi
