doing some research before buying an f430. Are there any options that i should look out for (i know about F1 which i want and ceramics which im not fussed about but thats about it). Any must haves?

Also on colour was grigio titanio a standard colour? only seen 2 for sale in last few months (1 at dick lovett now). any informed views on colours for resale? i dont want red, prefer the silvers/greys and maybe black

thanks all

Grigio Titanio is a standard color - my favourite! You need to decide which seats you prefer - standard or sports bucket, and you may find either more/less comfortable on long journeys (try before you buy)... The buckets come in different sizes.

Apart from F1 and seats I can't think of any other options you would need to consider. Perhaps owners can enlighten you...

of the options I had

I liked the look of the Carbon Fibre rear
Thought the sports seats were much better than standard - but you need to try them to see which you prefer
+ IPOD connector is worth having

Shields are good for resale

Has anyone suggested splitting the forums into Ferrari / Lamborghini?

This Lambo mafia all gets a bit boring.

Or change the current forum to "Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda and Lamborghini"?

must just add that its a second hand one im looking for not new so more to steer me away from buying something that didnt have the right spec.

As to the gallardo option for some reason the original doesnt really do it for me, much prefer the 560 so maybe in the future.

It's not a Lamborghini fault it's the internet forum way smile

'I'd like to buy a new starter motor for my car.'

'Why don't you buy haddock and chips with mushy peas instead?'

'Because I want a starter motor!'

'Well, you're a tt for not wanting the haddock to be honest...'

etc etc 'till thread lock.

Although mine didnt as it was an early car id say the same as traxx, the rear console in carbon makes the car look a lot more fresh than early cars. If not sport seats then go for the daytona seats. The sound package is not great even on the upgraded sound package so if thats your thing have it sorted by someone who knows there stuff. Shields although often mentioned dont really make a big difference i think, i didnt even realise mine was without. Saying that I would go for them if there are 2 identical cars for the same money but otherwise not a deal breaker. If you can get a car with ceramics id say def go for it, they dont seem to suffer the problems of Porsche's.

Awesome car!

I like that idea sounds cool. Wanna horses head that's not on a yellow badge?

Mine is Grigio Titanio with tan interior...still very happy with the color combo even if I now decided to wrap the car in matt grey.

For me a must on the F430 are F1 gearbox, shields, carboceramic brakes, carbon fiber upper section of the rear bumper and challenge wheels.

In terms of color, for future sale I will probably go for black but this is just because I hate red on a Ferrari...

Here a couple of picture of mine

Resale wise I would have thought that CCM brakes were becoming expected nowadays (they were standard from mid '07 onwards).

Shields are also a big deal resale wise particularly as you are doing the right thing IMO and avoiding the cliched red.

I also agree that the Daytona or sports seats are preferable to the plain standard seats and the rear Challenge grill modernises the rear of the car immeasurably.

Have a look at Grigio Silverstone which is a few shades darker than Titanio and very popular on the F430. It worked for me! biggrin

Yes the CCM discs are an absolute fortune to replace. Don't know the current cost, but originally the Enzo's were c £25k for all four corners (inc pads)!

Mass production will have brought the cost down, but they're still very, very expensive.
However, the upside is, if you don't use them on track, the discs will probably last the lifetime of the car.

If used hard and regularly on track, all bets are off, although I haven't read about as many being replaced as on Porsche GT3s, but that is probably because fewer Ferraris are being used as hard on track.
