Just settling in with my M3 - only had it a couple of weeks and I love it!!!
First big trip is to the Alps for a spot of skiing at half term (family Volvo has 'sadly' been taken ill, so quick change of plan and we'll take the M3).
Only problem with this is that I can't find snow chains to fit 255/35/19. My local BMW dealer says 'can't be done' but would be happy to supply a set of winter wheels and tyres for the bargain sum of £1500. Eeek!
Any ideas/experience on a cheaper way of doing this? For reference, the road to Flaine (where we are going) is usually pretty well cleared - we've never even put chains on in previous years - so it's more about meeting the rules on carrying them and being prepared for the unexpected than reckoning on them getting heavy use.
Thanks

Maybe consider Spike Spiders ?

I know Zod used these on a E46 a few years ago, and pretty sure he recommends them.

Is the E43 M3 a new model ..

Perhaps with 3 cylinders looped off ?
