If you mix some sugar into the water will this have any effect on the flowers.

Will they last longer, or is this just a myth ??

It does work.

As does flat lemonade.

I don't know why I know this.

Lemonade is another good one for keeping cut flowers longer.

Also, trim the stem ends as this will keep them fresher longer

If roses drop their heads, re cut the stems and plunge them in boiling water for a couple of minutes, then back into cold water, this will give them a new lease of life.

If you want to keep your cut flowers for longer, purchase a product called "wilt stop"

You mix it up with water and dip the flower in all the way from top until an inch from the bottom of stem, this seals the flower and stops it from traspiring all it's moisture away into the air!

Then add some sugar to your water and you should get flowers lasting for a good deal longer!

Be careful as I may resemble that last remark.

I'm a very caring, touchy-feely sort of a guy. A modern man. I have feelings you know.

Now fk Off.
