Guys just thinking about this estoril blue conv. evo. i saw in the City in the late 90's. I pulled over in the traffic jam and got talking to the driver. He said he had had it done in germany. I told him it looked amazing and it did.!!How to describe it? The panels that formed the sides of the boot had been flared out getting on for 45 degrees angle. This was to accomodate the most amazing tyres, getting a tape out they may have been 25 inches or wider cant remamber.I haven't done it justice, difficult to explain.Really professional job .Suppose nobody else ever spotted it?

Hi the end, got to say ,it was far FAR more adventurous than that. The bodywork side panels around the boot really flared out literally 35'45 degrees the back tyres were like formula 1 width. As i said ,like your photo totally professional job.Really wish i could describe it better.

that's the biggest, but it's not all that old, and has a roof.
i can't think of any other sightings of wider e36's about in the UK

Was it perhaps an E30? Brian Harvey (E17 fame) used to have a mahoosive E30 M3 cab. Cant seem to find any pics though...it was very Max Power.

AC Schnitzer did a version of the coupe (I think it was called CLS, but not sure) which had very flared arches. They're as rare as rocking horse plop, but maybe they did one of those in cab form?

Cant seem to find much on Google.

Interesting BEFORE and AFTER project on antandpete's pages here: http://antandpete.vault5.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?...

I must say I love the AFTER shots, tasteful and yet driveable compared to BEFORE

personal thing though....
