Peak District roads and 'Snowmaggedon'
Discussion
Does anyone know what the roads are like in the Peaks? - Really like - not what the news is reporting.
I have done getting on for 1000 miles in the past week in Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. And listening to the radio I should be almost dead by now. I really fancy some R&R and want to go snowboarding down Mam Tor (or similar) tomorrow. I appreciate it's not actually 'essential' but I have got all day.
I know the snake is closed, but I don't mind a bit of a hike.

Well that was a rubbish idea. Should have listened to the News. It really is a treacherous deathtrap of deadly death out there.
And I used a funny exposure on the pic before the run down.

The roads were so clear I had to take a detour to find some snowy bits. Need to get my moneys worth from the winter tyres.

I fancied a run out into the Peaks on Saturday with Tuscan Rat in Barney. Well I decided that going the back roads would be more 'interesting'. We ended up around Elton.

Shortly after Lee took this picture I got scared and asked Lee to take the helm. I decided that the prospect of a steep downhill icy slope was just too much for my nerves. Imagine my heart when Lee turned to me and said, "Darling, I'm not driving. We've lost all traction and Barney's drifting." Thankfully we made it home safely, past the mad, hissing geese roaming free along the road in Elton, to the safety of the streets of Nottingham.

no trainers actually, gold ones with not much grip but trainers non the less

You coming to any meets soon? Would be nice to catch up

Cheers! I have also added new fog lamps and indicator lenses since you last saw him so that helps improve his looks.
I hope to get to a Midlands meet very soon. Need to check IAM calendar as I'm delivering a theory session this month. I'm sure it is on 17th Feb. I will be without my car on 2nd March so might need to blag a ride.
And trainers are possibly the worst thing to wear in the snow. Hope you feel better now though.
