Smells like an easy way to fire and forget on a new Omega?

I wonder if the mrs will notice my seamster pro has transformed into a planet ocean?

Must start thinking of excuses, won it at work? swapped it (straight swap obviously.)
found it?

Any ideas of the terms deposit etc?

Ernest jones have been doing the same deal for a while also, it's usually 20% up front.

Anyone know if you can still negotiate a discount with the interest free offer?

At the moment, despite an excellent (I believe smile )credit rating, I'd be concerned that they'd turn me down due to their lack of funds but this would still drag down my credit rating frown.

Whilst everyone makes their own choices, why on earth would anyone finance a watch?!

I can just about understand cars etc but a watch, credit on that has to be utter madness whether its interest free or not. Surely if you can't afford it just wait a bit and save til you can, that way you will be able to cut a better deal on the price.

No, because people want things now. They don't want to wait and save when they can not wait and pay afterwards. Especially on 0% - I was looking at it before, I would LOVE a Planet Ocean but don't feel I need one right now. If i did 'need' one, I think I'd rather put it on finance whether I need to or not...

You gotta pay list price thats how they make the money, they use what they would of give you discount to fund the loan. 0% finance would cost them money - You dont get anything for free in this world.

Hence my question. As you quite rightly point out LTP, this is normally how interest free credit would work in reality. Just want to know if anyone had any actual experience of these deals. Whilst I don't "need" another watch, I wonder how desperate for the business they are as they are looking to increase business.

Its worth a punt, your best bet is finding a watch thats stocked in both Beaverbrooks and Ernest Jones, that way you can say you will go to the other one if they dont give you a deal you like. Although i think its very unlikely to get a deal and 0% it doesnt hurt in trying.

In Manchester's Trafford Centre Goldsmiths and Beaverbrooks are next to each other and Ernest Jones are above, so you can play the 3 off each other and get a good deal.

How about haggling a discount, pay by credit card and then do a balance transfer onto another credit card?
That way you could achieve let's say 20% off and 6 months to pay off your credit
card interest free?

Put it another way, if you had £3k in your bank earning interest (granted may not be much at the moment!) and you want to spend it on a watch, do you use the money and loose 3 years interest or do you take the 0% offer from the dealer? Exactly the same can be achieved as mentioned above with the use of a credit card, you keep your money in the bank and maintain a balance on a 0% offer, card surfing and swapping to another card as the 0% offer ends. To me it seems a no brainer.

you can get 20-30% discount on most watches so pay with card and get 0% for 10 months . i think if you havnt got the money this would be the way to go , but it would not be recomended unless you have the funds in a deposit .
