Seriously why do you get some right knobbers everytime you go to the pub?

I was out on my usual Friday night drink tonight, having a laugh and a pint with some old and new mates shooting the st about the week gone by and making gest.

Anyway I pop off to the toilet and when I get back there is some new bloke sat in my seat. No problem at all, I sit back down in the next seat and carry on have a bit of banter with this bloke and we get on fine.

Then I get up to call a lift, as I get up I make a joke to a guy I know on the end of the table (he nor' I can remember what the joke was) anyway as I go to walk off this new bloke grabs me and starts staring me down saying I have insulted "his mate" and that "I should apologise" thinking this is a joke I just look back kind of bewildered. At this point he goes a bit mad trying to grab me threatening me saying how "he loves XXXXXX" and that "I should apologise before he does something"? Even the guy XXXXX who I made the original joke to is bewildered and trying to calm the guy down?
Being fairly sober I apologised to a frankly confused XXXXXXX and defused the situation then walked outside to call a lift.

As I walked back inside the guy is being held back by his crew and trying to get at me again?

Really what the hell is wrong with people? Can't I just have a relaxed/fun Friday pint without cockends like this spoiling the fun?

Seems every pub has one, a completely irrational dhead who wants to cause problems.

There's always one isn't there.

Usually they end up being ignored by the majority and not invited again. Hope this happens in your case, my friends don't put up with aholes.

Everyone was laughing about it afterwards and confused at what had happened, still puts a dampener on a night when you have to spend 10 minutes trying to avoid a fight breaking out.
