A couple of months in and it's I've got to say I think the V8 is amazing; okay the CSL makes a unique noise; but I think the V8 offers it's own twist on a screaming soundtrack at 8300rpm..couple of pics. I know red won't appeal to most; it wasn't my first choice, but right time, right money, right spec (for me)..meant the colour was secondary.

A couple of pics

i really like the red, i was looking for a red e46 but couldnt find one with the spec at the time, looked for months!

not too sure on the wheels though, i think i would have to change them, all the same i would have it, but in the saloon version, nice car mate, bet the v8 sound lovley, does it rasp like the e46?

yeah the wheels are marmite; actually better in the flesh than in pics; but I see your view. The rasp is not the same as the S54/s52 sound; there's not the same "metallic" sound; but it "zings" and "roars" in a Quasi V8 Race car way..v addictive

I've had mine for a couple of weeks (after running 3 E46 M3s) and I totally love this car, its the best car I've ever driven.
Its well spec'ed 2009 MY DCT car bought 3 months old with low miles.

pete, looks brilliant in white; it was the colour of choice for me; but I couldn't find one at a sensible price with the right spec (had to have EDC for me). The DCT is meant to be fantastic. I agree having had an M Coupe (s52) and M3 E46 and other stuff I've got to say it's the best car I've owned; I went without 19s but would've had them if I could have specc'd the car myself, although I'm not unhappy with 18s in the flesh and on the dull red I think they work quite well..

I spent nearly two months looking for the right car and although I wasn't *that* bothered about colour and spec my ideal car was always Alpine white/black interior with DCT, 19" wheels, bluetooth and telematics (EDC would have been nice but not a deal breaker) so when this car came up with my ideal spec I pushed my budget to the max (and beyond!) to buy it. Its also got some other stuff I wanted like the 2009 MY idrive, heated seats, USB, voice, hifi upgrade and the sliding armrest and some stuff that I wasn't bother about, like sun protection glass, High beam assist and elct fold mirrors. The DCT is brilliant, I was a little unsure after the test drive as it was so different to the SMG M3s I'd owned but once you settle in with it, its excellent and I wouldn't go back to a manual. I've been driving cars (some bad and some brilliant) for more years than I care to mention yet this one still makes you smile everytime you drive it.

Both amazing cars, however it is remarkable how much more "sporty" the white car looks. I think that it is 50:50 down to colour and to wheels.

Am I the only one that thinks that the 4dr is a nicer looking car than the coupe?

I liked the E92 in white until I got fed up with keeping it clean. Prefer the look of my current saloon tho' it just seems chunkier and the smaller dimensions make an improvement over the coupe in my view

I like the saloon, but am geekish about carbon fibre, so the coupe won for me. The photos of mine don't make it look that good tbh; the white looks better. The colour being slightly dull makes it easier for me to let it get grubby; with a white one I'd love having it perfect...

Still from the inside it drives the same; red or white..awesome

Any one got any reccomendations for exhaust upgrades... im tempted by the Eisenmann Race... anyone heard it for real (not just You tube)?
