I'm just trying to gauge whether it's worth performing any of these on an otherwise standard 500 (apart from an ACT induction hose and K&N filter).
What gains if any could I expect from these mods alone and what would I need.
I'm just interested to know If there's a few extra cheap HP to be had, but I don't want this at the expense of smooth running and Torque, of which it has lots of now. I'd be interested to know others experiences on this. CRAIG

so who` Debs then Craig??hehe you`ve got some sweet talking to do now mateyhehe

I found the carbon trumpets from act worked well, one of the main advantages worth fitting is the thermal insulator that fits between the trumpet base and the inlet manifold, helps keep the temperatures down in the plenum, the cooler the air the better.

I don't know about "sorry Andrea". I'm the one who you should be saying sorry to. yes I would post pics of the abuse that I've suffered, on here, but it wouldn't make easy watching. It would even be too strong for your so called 'light hearted topic' hehe

I have fitted the act twin plenum and a new hot air meter, then mapped with mark adams tornado chip. BHP up to 300+. Give act a shout. Did it all at the same time...different car now...but still the same crap driver hah

This is the only pic i have, all pipework is complete now.
Old 3.9 Plenum chopped off and ally plate welded on, the 2 inlet holes are profiled inside as the plate is quite thick to accommodate the fixing screws.
Not pretty I know but much cheaper and fun to make.
Had to make inlet tubing from original Omega tubes, Bought a plastic welding kit for that.
Wrapped the pipework in wadding as its thermoplastic, not good just above the header.

Amazing what you can make out out of a few odds and ends. Looks good. What have you done with the trumpets inside and how does the car perform with it on there.
