Advert Server - Is it solar powered?

Your advert server is driving me crazy, and not just tonight. Some of the adverts take ages to load (especially the University of Liverpool one).

This is on home, work and via 3G broadband, so it's definitely you and not me...

Please sort it out.

Seeing as we're on the subject of forum problems, I'd also love to know why I've been sin binned.

I've been playing nicely, so an e-mail explaining why wouldn't be unreasonable...

We are aware of the problems and will be moving to a new ad server in the near future.

You haven't been Sin-Binned, you've just been given a very short ban from the P&P for breaking our name and shame rules.

Thanks Mr Will - good news on the advert server.

The ironic thing on the name and shame breach is that I made a joke after the original post had been blocked out, and after a few others had posted other company names as a joke, but unfortunately mine appears to have have been the "right" company.

Apologies therefore due from me for my unintentional breach of the rules.

Don't have a firm ETA at the moment, but it is 'Work in progress' at the moment.

When you migrate to the new ad server, can you do something about the bloody awful flash adverts that insist on managing to either hang the page randomly, or nail the entire browser. They seem badly implemented enough to nadger most popular browsers.

Please, can we have some static ads within the threads please? I'm at the point where I will have to block all the flash content, which sort of negates the point of adverts. The banners are fine, it's the bloody embedded thread ones that do it.

I use Adblock to remove the adverts - pages load instantly here!

The new ad-server should solve all these problems, but in the mean time if there is a particular ad that is running slow then let us know and we can get it removed.
