Thankyou very much for the links. Any reason you think why BMW took 6 months later to release the M6.

I would like an M5 or M6 but I think I will wait another year or so before I change my current car.

Not sure why the M6 took a bit longer mate - maybe just marketing reasons if BMW didn't want it to steal the M5s thunder.

Go for an M6 - you will be a god and all this remapping malarky will be history !

The Delay was for marketing. I worked for BMW at the time and drove one of the first black M6s due for dealer demo, it was early Nov '05 from Memory.

500BHP is an awful lot of power. Get something in between your current steed and the M5/M6?

They're heavy cars though so should be ok?

yes 500hp is a lot, but it quite surprising how quickly you get used to it and want more!

Agreed, it needs a sensible head though!

completely agree about a "sensible head" even 414bhp today was a bit sketchy in places; 500bhp requires a dollop of due care and attention...
