Any VAG technical experts in the house?

My ABS light comes on every now and again... hadnt seen it for a few months, but it came back on yesterday and wont go off.....

Scanned it with VAG-COM and came up with this:

Address 03: ABS Brakes
Controller: 6X0 907 379 C
Component: ABS/EDS 30 IE CAN V004
Coding: 05603
Shop #: WSC 00788
1 Fault Found:
01276 - ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64)
16-10 Signal Outside Specifications- Intermittent

Now its possible that the ABS unit is KAPUT... but is it possible that one of the wheel speed sensors might be giving some weird values, hence the confusion of the ABS control unit?

Or does that error code deffinately mean that the control unit is fuggered? Is that the pump or the Control unit?

Got a few other faults with the engine management.... but thats another day lol

Test each sensor and work from there.

Did the light come on after activation due to ice etc?

Nope... Not had the ABS do anything useful for some time!

It usually comes on after a high speed blat and then slowing down for a junction etc deffinately not braking hard enough to cause the ABS to work!...

Check the sensors and toothed wheel.
Make sure there is no crap trapped, which would interrupt a signal.

One code seems to be a Hydraulic fault thoughfrown

It's a faulty wire at the abs connector/body harness giving false readings at the ECU end, see it all the time on Polo's & Golfs.

Waggle the connector a few times, my bet it will go away (briefly)
