Check this out link I thought they stopped making the v8 a few years ago. It seems a bargain though, £17k cheaper than when they stopped making them. It is obviously an older model though as it is not the facelifted version, does this mean that it will have been sitting around in a field unregistered for a few years then?

They still make them, in fact all exports outside EU are the 4.4 V8. I have been told if you ask nicely you can still get one delivered new in the UK.

It is probably an ex-LR D3.

It could be a bargain then, stick an LPG conversion and get V8 power and noise for diesel economy and still cost less than a new TDV6 HSE. I take it an LPG conversion would stop the warranty though.

Why waste money on an LPG? The £1500 you would spend on the conversion is money that could be used to subsidise its' running to give it a better equivalent MPG than a TDV6. Plus it would not invalidate the warranty, nor affect its' residual.

Buyit, run it on petrol and enjoy the V8 rumble!

I saw this on eBay too - I thought it was orginally an export vehicle because of the front number plate size, and because it was Motorpoint it made me think that furthermore.

They've had them for a couple of years - IIRC it was all ex-stock LR stuff from when they ceased selling them. All silver, all black interiors, all 05/06 models. Considering a second hand one is well under £20k, I can't understand why they persisted trying to get £32k for them for quite so long... Still, the stock has been slowly dwindling.

So its been sat around in a field for 4 years then. Bets that done a lot to enhance the stunning reliability that the D3's are known for.

Cerbfan, the first ones can be a nightmare, but they are very good reliable cars. At least mine has been a dream. In 11k miles and 12 months, all I've had is a puncture just this week.
